If you have a Hutchinson, Ks connection this is funny and worth checking out.
If you already know how to prepare "Overnight French Toast" then definitely don't click here.
If you don't like a good honest debate, where you will learn something... don't click here.
My next big post.. Will be about Gun rights and concealed carry. All inspired by a good friend of mines facebook status statement a couple of days ago and an email from another good friend of mine. Both of these guys are great friends of mine and on opposite ends of this argument. I think we should all just get along... HEHEHE!

...Twitter is coffee shop of the world... the whole world can now know about the good or bad thing you did just like it's always happened at the small town coffee shop.

I really liked the article about slogans. In 1998 I was hired by Raytown to revamp their image. I'm not sure that you'll ever find something that has done more for a city than my "Raytown, where the Ray stands for Friends" campaign.
ReplyDeleteIf you go to Raytown, you'll still see hats, t-shirts, watertowers, etc. emblazoned with this slogan. When the mayor gave me a key to the city in 2003, it was one of my proudest moments.
Anyway, I've never liked "Come Share our Space". I mean, it's not that bad, but the decision in the early 90's to paint it on the watertower in blue, when the watertower was already painted blue was a bad one (I think it has since been changed, but for years it was blue on blue).
My favorite potential slogan for Hutchinson is... "Hutchinson, we'll see you on Thursday!" Imagine the impact a slogan like that could have on the city. People would start showing up downtown on Thursdays, filling the streets, wondering what was going on. Before you knew it, there WOULD be stuff going on. As Mitchell says, "that's capitalism". Hutchinson would become known for having the best Thursdays in the state.

ahhh..the glorious "Ray stands for Friends" campaign. When I lived in Iowa, the state took submissions to change "Iowa, makes me smile" (too close, I guess, to Iowa makes me laugh). My favorite actual submissions were "Iowa, its Baja Minnesota" and "Iowa, its Kansas without the Glitz"
