Wii Fit + Extreme Cody = good!!

We got a wii fit. I have wanted one for a long time and the damn things are really hard to find in hutchinson ks!

So anyway I stopped in a the local gamestop day before yesterday and the guy behind the counter knows I am there to see if they have any and he laughs and says "come on in, we got 4 back here." It was like Christmas morning, finally I will have this white box thing that sits on my floor and I jump around on and look like a completely drunk moron.

Life is good!!

So, the first activities you are presented really aren't that much of a workout and I instantly started to doubt the physical fitness benefits of my nearly 100 dollar purchase. That didn't last. I kept opening up new games and trying different ones and this damn thing will kill you if you do it for a solid hour.

If you have trouble motivating yourself to get exercise and you enjoy video games at all, I truly recommend it. If it doesn't seem like a workout at first, just keep going through all the activities. Stick to it, keep opening up new activities and ride it out for about 45 mins. You will get a workout and have a blast.

Extreme Cody update: down to 200 lbs even. 5 lbs to go. Wii fit is gonna help me keep exercising and I am more confident than ever that 195 by Feb 15 is gonna happen.

Oh yeah Obama ain't doing bad 2 days in. One question though... "What's his plan with the prisoners in gitmo?" I fully agree that for a lot of reasons we needed to change that situation, but, there are people in there that we can't just set free. Anybody seen what his plan is??

  1. Keep it up! Remember I'm sending 20 big ones to your charity of choice when you make it!

As for Obama's plan for the Gitmo detainees, the executive order he issued is supposed to help figure that out. Investigators will determine whether any can be released right away (which actually 60 of the approximately 250 there right now have been cleared for release already, but haven't been for one reason or another). Then those that remain will be run through some court which the investigators (some sort of council presumeably setup by Obama and his staff) are supposed to study and make recommendations. Whether that be a federal court, military tribunal or something else hasn't yet been determined, I don't think. Thats what I heard on NPR on the way home tonight, anyway.

This article from NPR's website probably explains it better than I did.

  3. I second everything said about the Wii Fit (including the Christmas morning feeling when you finally find one)!
Congrats on your weight loss thus far and 5 pounds in three weeks is a cakewalk. I've got a little goal myself of 15 more pounds by Memorial Day - I'm thinking with Wii Fit I'll be there by St. Patty's, easy! It's so freaking fun you don't even realize you're working up a sweat. Highly recommended!

  5. Good job Cody...as for Gitmo and your quote "there are people in there that we can't just set free." Well, this is America, you either are tried and convicted for something or released. It is that simple. We don't just put bad or potentially bad people in prison without a trial...and I think Monty's explanation is pretty accurate...I think I heard the same story.

  6. The analysts have been saying for awhile now the best location for the Gitmo detainees would be Ft. Leavenworth but Pat Roberts is long and strong against it.

    Brownbeck is against it too.

Murtha has offered up his district in Western Pennsylvania but that doesn't even begin to make good logistical sense.

The active military installations in Pennsylvania aren't in his district and are mostly in the center of the state...and two hours away from DC.

He's talking out of his hat.

I read a couple of days ago that the facility would have to be underground. I don't know if that's correct or not but there is a certain logic to it.

I don't think anyone knows where they'll go at this point. There'll be a lot of NIMBY (Not In My Backy Yard) protesting on this one.

  7. My daughter got a Wii from her husband this weekend for her bday. We had a blast playing Wii Sports - I am a fairly hilarious boxer according to my kids "I wouldn't want to meet Mom in a dark alley". Of course this was said as they were laughing their butts off. I woke up Monday morning and was sore all over - it sucked to find out my Wii age was 54:(

Looked all over Hutch and Wichita for a Wii fit for my daughter's bday. No luck. Ended up with a mario cart which is fun too. I never thought I'd say it but I want a Wii and Wii Fit. If Cody can do it - surely it can't be that hard:) jk cody. Good Luck!
