Allegany College of Maryland.

I am a team host for Allegany College from Maryland for the NJCAA tourney in Hutch this week.

This is the 4th year I have done this and it is a blast.

This group of coaches and players is a great bunch of people. Great character and manners oh yeah and they are on a 19 game winning streak.

They are 29-5 coming in rank 25th in the country as of last poll. Coach Mike Baker is a true class act.

Here's my thought: I would love to see a bunch of people from Hutch rally around these guys. I know some of you will feel some allegiance to Garden City cause they are from our state. That's cool, not trying to talk you out of that. But if you are looking for a team to back or a reason to get interested in the NJCAA tournament, Allegany is seriously a great group of guys, it would be really cool if some of us adopted this team!! I promise their character is worth it!! It would a fun little movement to get started, if you want spread the word to back Allegany by sending emails, facebook it, twitter???

Just a thought...

What do you think?

  1. There is some benefit to being on-call this week. I happen to have normal working hours off and saw that the team you are hosting will be playing on Wednesday...1pm if I remember. One reason I am glad I moved back to Hutch...this tournament. I'll be there to watch on Wednesday barring 8 or 9 call outs in the middle of the night :).

  2. No way...I am rooting for Midland, who have graced the NJCAA tournament with such notables as Mookie Blaylock and Spud Webb. I sat on their bench and was their waterboy when they lost the championship in 1987 (my dad was their host).
