Small town fun at Klear Nearly Days in Nickerson Kansas

This weekend in Nickerson Ks is the Klear Nearly days Festival. I don't really know the origin of it but based on the dates and the fact it is in the middle of Kansas, I am sure it was started as a "End of Wheat Harvest" festival.

I really think alot of folks underestimate the fun that can be had a smalltown festivals. They are amazing and incredibly cultural.(and cheap!!!)

Have you ever given one a shot as a source of family entertainment or even a mini-vacation?

If money is a little tight this summer, go to a small town festival near you and make a big deal of it while taking it easy on the wallet??? Just a thought, they are a blast.

My daughter played in a Mud Volleyball Tournament in the pouring rain... (ridiculous, whose raising this child?)
