Are Marketeers ruining the world?

I started to see a few folks I really admire on twitter start to get into trying to make $$ on twitter over the last few weeks and it made me think a little.

*** let me back up and say I am a Marketer, that's what I do at the company I work for, I help our clients market themselves.

Ok that being said,

I think "Marketers" are ruining the world!

Ok a select group of Marketers are ruining the world. I also think I figured out the specifics of how they are doing it.

They are Marketing shortcuts... They are marketing ways to "Beat the system".

We as a society have been bombarded with ways to circumvent work. We are constantly shown ways to get rich or thin or laid without putting any effort into it.

Its ridiculous!!

Please if you have any sense in your head don't latch onto this pipe dreams.

Folks, if someone honestly had a way to get rich quick, would they need to run 30 minute infomercials at 2:30 in the morning on cable TV in 2009? No twitter would spread the word to the world in about 37 seconds!

If they honestly had the secret tips to losing weight would they be following 5200 people on twitter and have 61 following them? No they would be more popular on the internet than Ashto Kutcher!

We let these morons into our world by clicking on their links and ordering their dumb ass books on tape and letting the fact we want our situations to be better cloud our judgment.

When in reality the only way to improve our situations is that horrible 4 letter word... Work!
