One of the biggest things I love about living in a smaller city.

So last week I was sitting with a good friend of mine Dan Heimerman (owner of Carl's Bar) and he had this box of snack bars. I stole one. :)

It was the greatest snack bar I ever had... The taste was incredible.
(it's also insanely healthy... which I care very little about, doesn't have any Gluten in it.. I don't even know/care what Gluten is, but it made me feel good about myself to let you know how damn healthy they are.)

That's not the point of this story..

Point is:

I wanted some to have around, so I asked Dan where he got them, he said Sam's Club, that's in Wichita, 50 miles away. Not only did I not wanna have to drive 50 miles every time I need some snack bars... I hate going to Sam's... not that I hate Sam's, I am just really not a people person... and there is always too many people there.

Ok, ok, ok, the point:

I thought "I should be able to get these in Hutch", then I thought "Who should be carrying these in Hutch", Instantly "SMITH'S MARKET" pops into my head.

I send a text to Chris, the owner of Smith's Market: "Hey if you would carry these things... I would buy them from you regularly" (I included a pic of the wrapper of the one I stole from Dan). I get a text back from Chris: "We will have them in the store next Thursday".

Today is next Thursday, I stop into Smith's Market to see if they have them and POOF... I have a full box of Cashew Cookie Larabars.

I love my hometown.

  1. Yea for Smith's Market! They are also sold at Dillon's on 30th ... the lemon ones are my favorite.

And they are really healthy - no preservatives, chemicals or anything but real food.
