DeleteThe ONLY thing that bothers me about gay couples....Seems like once they are "out' , many become activists for gay life....and in your face approach to everything in their life. I know both kinds of couples. I enjoy them, some of them I love because I am related to them. But tell me about your real life not the activist side. I like you for YOU and not all the choices you make...just like I hope you like me for the same reasons!
ReplyDeleteI like the concept of "show me the real you" and I agree that SOME activists of any movement can really be over-bearing... I think when they are over-bearing about their cause they really push people away and make the opposition dig their heels in even deeper. Common Sense and balance are always good tactics.

DeleteWorthing, as a gay person, the only time I get radical and be an activist is when folks tell me they love the sinner, but not the sin. When folks say that I can't be a good person because of what their morals/religious beliefs are, without taking into consideration that my personal morals maybe just as strict or as set as theirs. No, I'm not Christian.
ReplyDeleteStormy, I think your point is valid and I think Worthing would agree... I know her... She's a sensible open minded gal. Would you agree that sometimes some activists.. Whether environmentalist, pacifist, occupiers or Gay rights activist do take it to an overbearing level? Get some much in everyones face about their cause that they actually can hurt the reputation of the cause? I think that is what Worthing is saying...

ReplyDeleteThis show was leaps in bounds better than last week, I as a radio guy can not wait for next week's show. I liked the format, the flow, the form itself. The flow was so much better than last week, not sure if it was topic,not sure.
WHAT I LIKED:
*Show Preview that got sent out a few days early was AWESOME
*The acknowledgment of Heath and all was great cause this stuff is team work.
*The format was awesome...Yeah if you have a program clock/format it makes everything so much better{Yes we would all love to fly the doors open at 00 and go to 60 but we all know it aint happening} So yeah having segments planned is great...
*The encouragement of lets get your thoughts is GREAT, so many shows roll the # or tweet hash-tag or anything but you know they give 2 S*its on what YOU think...ha ha
*LOVED the logo in the background, it's too bad you could not get a local print shop to trade ya a banner you could hang on the window behind ya with the facebook,twitter,site url's and logo on it.
WHAT I WOULD ADD/CHANGE:
*If Cliff would allow you record a special promo or promo period to run on the station to hype the show the next week. If you have a guest lined up I would as soon as your done there, record the promo then have them run it to preview next week's show.
*I would toss after each break a quick, "welcome back Cody Talks our guest is...." and then go from there, Just in case someone just tuned in or whatever...it also does not need to be a big intro so you take more time away from the guest.
*An idea you could do{however your not wearing ear buds or phones, which actually looks better on camera} have music bed come up under you cats before you break or if your having a hard time keeping on pace, have Heath roll a bed 10 seconds which cues ya to go to break.
*I noticed every once in awhile you would swing in the chair and temp come off mic, I am not sure how you correct it, cause if you have the mic in front of your face, its gonna screw ya on the camera cause people will see the mic in front of ya for the WHOLE time.
