Why I do this...

I think the about page on this site... (Click Here) still sums up why I have this site perfectly, even after 4+ years.

I love the conversation, I honestly feel like I am getting smarter as I discuss things with people I have never really had a conversation about. I used to be the guy that poked fun at philosophy... I know think the internet gives philosophizing a medium that makes it a legit means to  a solution.

Thanks so much to every single one of you that has ever read, commented, criticized or shared anything that has ever happened on this site... I don't know if it is actually accomplishing anything, but it feels like it just might be.

  1. A Socratic Circle (also known as a Socratic Seminar)is a pedagogical approach based on the Socratic Method and uses a dialogic approach to understand information in a text. Its systematic procedure is used to examine a text through questions and answers founded on the beliefs that all new knowledge is connected to prior knowledge, that all thinking comes from asking questions, and that asking one question should lead to asking further questions. A Socratic Circle is not a debate. The goal of this activity is to have participants work together to construct meaning and arrive at an answer, not for one student or one group to “win the argument”.
